I am thankful for the rain we got today. I love the rain!
I am thankful for Tricia and Jennifer, Harper's two friends at the deli counter at HEB Alon. They are two of the nicest women you can meet. They always greet us with a smile and remember Harper by name. I especially love when they whisper to Harps that she's their favorite customer. How's that with a serving of Boars Head Oven Roasted Turkey?
I am so thankful for volunteers that give as much to a job they've signed on to as the women I'm working with for the Junior League's wine auction, Fête du Cuvée. I'm chairing this brand new event for the spring and it has turned out to be no small feat. I have an AMAZING committee of women that do everything asked of them without a single complaint.
And just an extra...I'm thankful that my life is filled with normal, every day, routine stuff and I, sometimes, need to play catch up. I am blessed that I am not sidelined by illness, death or tragedy but simply the hecticness of every day life.

A little follow up on Tricia & Jennifer, the HEB deli ladies. I stopped by to pick up an order, as I was the only customer & both ladies were working, I pulled out my iPhone & told them I had a story to share.
I explained that I was Harper's grandmother...you would have thought I was royalty! They began ooowing and aawing over sweet Harps .
I then read this part of the blog about what you had written about them. Both were so touched, Jennifer became teary. They quickly called for their bosses, reading the piece to them, they too were so touched that one asked if she could give me a hug. All said, it was your kind words that made their day!
You neve know how a few words of gratitude can touch hearts. Yours did today, well done sweet girl!
